Privacy policy
Eat Momo runs this website for our restaurants in Thamel and Sanepa, Kathmandu. This page explains what we learn about you when you use it, and what we do with it. The short version: we ask only for what we need to cook and deliver your food or answer your enquiry, and we never sell it.
What we collect, and why
- When you order online: your name, phone number, email if you give one, delivery address and notes, what you ordered and when you want it. We use these to make the order, call you to confirm it and deliver it.
- When you ask about catering: your name, phone, email and address if given, the date, the number of guests and what you tell us about the event, so we can call you with a quote.
- When you ask about wholesale: your business and contact name, phone, email, the kind of business, the quantities and area you mention, and your message.
- When you order from a table: we don't ask your name. Your phone gets a random id in a cookie so our staff can tell which phone sent which order to the table.
- Your cart is saved in your own browser so a refresh does not empty it. It reaches us only when you place the order.
- Your IP address is used for a short time to stop the same device sending a flood of orders. We don't store it with your order.
- Visit statistics: we count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
Who sees it
Our own staff, to prepare and deliver your order or answer your enquiry. We also rely on a few services to run the site, which handle your details only on our behalf:
- Supabase, which hosts our database.
- Vercel, which hosts the website.
- WhatsApp (Meta), when we have alerts switched on: a new order or enquiry sends your name and phone number to our staff's phones.
Some pages show a Google Map or Instagram posts. These load from Google and Instagram, which may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your details, use them for advertising, or pass them to anyone else unless the law requires it. You don't pay online on this site, so we never see card details.
How long we keep it
We keep order and enquiry records for our accounts and so we can help if something went wrong with an order. If you want yours removed sooner, ask us and we will delete it unless we have to keep it by law.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can clear the cart and the table cookie at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
